Parkva Patrol

Parkva Patrol includes LPR cameras, a control unit, an internal 4G/LTE modem, and an Android tablet. (We include data usage in your monthly subscription fee.) You can purchase power and mounting accessories from Parkva or procure them directly from the manufacturers.

Mount the control unit and camera(s) securely to your vehicle using Parkva-recommended accessories or industry best practices. The tablet requires a secure mount, such as one supplied by rammount.com, that provides the best possible view and access from the driver's seat. You will find detailed power options in the user manual.

The system will detect and read license plates when operated within the parameters outlined in the user manual. It will determine if the license plates are on the allowed list (permitted) and identify those not authorized to park.

Operating within the conditions outlined in the Parkva Patrol user manual, the system will correctly identify license plates with 99 percent accuracy.

Parkva Patrol supports digital permitting systems from Omadi, ParkingSnap, VPermits, Reliant, ParkByPlate, and TowCentric. We also integrate these systems with Omadi's dispatch platform.

Parkva Patrol supports two cameras working simultaneously to process license plate images on both sides of the patrolling vehicle. Parkva's LPR cameras are designed to operate best when within a range of 10-15 feet of a parked vehicle. You should therefore consider this operating range limitation when determining if a dual-camera solution will work for you.

Parkva Watch

Parkva Patrol detects four types of violations: no-parking zones, exceeding the parking time limit, customer parking only (walk-offs), and parking without a permit.

Parkva Watch is designed and deployed in a manner intended to meet the legislative intent of predatory towing laws. Some PPI towing ordinances do not account for the use of technology to monitor parking violations, which has made it difficult for governmental authorities to answer this question unequivocally. Furthermore, state, city, and municipal predatory towing laws vary greatly. Therefore, it’s best to check with your local authorities to make sure you are deploying ParkvaWatch™ in a manner compliant with your local PPI towing codes.

No. You pay for the service on a month-to-month basis.

Either 110V AC or a solar power system can power Parkva Watch. Often you will have a 110V outlet next to the rooftop HVAC units. Be sure to follow local building codes when installing and powering your system.

We designed the system for quick DIY installation. However, some people may prefer to have a low-voltage contractor perform this work.

If an apartment complex has contracted with a PPI towing company to remove unauthorized vehicles from the property, the PPI towing company typically pays for our service.

Parkva Insight

A typical Parkva Insight deployment involves multiple cameras to cover a large parking lot or numerous zones of street-side parking. Infrastructure engineering is usually required to determine the quantity and placement of cameras and edge gateways. Following system design, Parkva delivers a comprehensive proposal.

Municipalities are the typical customer for Parkva Insight, and they generally use their public works employees to install the cameras and edge gateways.

Parkva Edge gateways support almost every IP security camera on the market.

Parkva Edge cameras use Sony's Starvis sensors, which offer exceptional imagery in low-light conditions. Typical street and parking lighting are sufficient for the cameras to perform the video analytic functions at night.

Coverage depends almost entirely on the mounting height of the camera and whether there is an unobstructed view of the parking spaces. Because cameras are often installed on relatively short municipal decorative lampposts, Parkva's cameras and video analytics are uniquely designed to provide the greatest degree of coverage with the fewest cameras. No. Although our solutions can operate on a citywide Wi-Fi network, you’ll experience a better, more reliable deployment when using 4G/LTE connections from our IoT edge gateways.
