Who is FTR Inc?
FTR Inc manages enforcement for hundreds of properties in Minnesota, many of them with more than 400 parked cars. Owner Chris Frovik describes what that looks like on foot in one line.
“You can’t walk those lots effectively,” Chris said.
What was the problem, in their words?
Coverage. A driver on foot spent up to 50 minutes on a single lot, by FTR’s account, and in a Minnesota winter some nights ended with one or two cars per truck. That is not a driver problem. It is what happens when the only way to read a plate is to stand next to it.
“Before Parkva some nights we’d only find one or two cars per truck, especially in harsh winter conditions. Now, we find everything we can tow in no time,” Chris explained.
What changed with Parkva Patrol?
The same lot is now read from the truck in about 10 minutes, by FTR’s account, with Parkva Patrol reading plates as the truck passes and checking each one against the property’s list. The time that used to go to one lot goes to the next four, which is the whole of the change: the trucks did not get faster, the reading did.
Does it work on properties without digital permits?
Yes, and Chris is specific about it. Even where a property has no digital permitting in place, the scan is what saves the time.
“Once the property is setup, the time savings of scanning a lot with Parkva are so big, it’s hard to justify doing it any other way.”
What do the drivers think?
They are not walking in the dark any more. They patrol from the cab, find cars faster, and stay safer.
“They love it, it’s just easier all around.”
What is the new standard?
“If I don’t have Parkva Patrol with me, I’m not going out. That’s how valuable it’s become.”
What is the result?
FTR Inc reports tow volume up 50 to 75%. That is their figure, for their own trucks on their own properties, and it is a patrol result: the same enforcement rules, applied to every lot on the route instead of the three or four a driver could walk. It is not a Parkva measurement.
